This was the WORST customer service we have ever received. We searched and reviewed so many bakers for our wedding cake and decided to go with Kitty (Tasteful Indulgence in Seward) after looking through all of her beautiful pictures and wonderful sounding flavors. We loved the idea of a rumchata wedding cake! Once talking with her, she seemed so sweet and passionate about her work and loved to do what she does. We were so confident with our pick. We emailed back and forth for a while and it took her a LONG time to respond, sometimes wouldnt even respond until I would remind her that I DID email her and was waiting for a response. This I could let slide, everyone is busy including myself, especially since she did acknowledge it by constantly saying how patient I was and always apologized. I appreciated that. What I didnt appreciate, that actually made us decide to search for a new baker was that when it came time to pick the flavors we want, I asked to sample Red Velvet, Rumchata, Carrot Cake and Marble. Those were the 4 that we knew we wanted just wanted to make sure we liked her recipe of them all enough to pick for our wedding. She informed me the only way I could sample these 4 flavors is if I PAID $29 A DOZEN EACH!! So that would mean I would spend $116 for 48 cupcakes that I did not want or need. She was so unwilling to work something out with us that she even had an attitude with us when I said my fiance will not pick a flavor we cant sample first. She stopped responding to me when I was expressing my concern about now knowing if we will like the flavors and it is so important to us to taste them. The way she handled this all was soo unprofessional. I was going to spend $2000 with her for cakes and over $116 in cupcakes she decided to turn that down. Now I am 5 months out from my wedding and I need to find a whole new baker. DO NOT EVEN TRY TO USE HER!! Brides, you will be so disappointed in how she treats you once she knows shell get your money. Stay away!

Janet's is just fabulous!!! I'm mostly writing this review in response to my wedding cake, but my bridal shower cakes were from there and I have been to many other weddings/events with Janet's cakes and they have been absolutely perfect every time --- and this is coming from someone who typically doesn't even like cake! For our wedding, Janet was so professional, sitting down with us and getting us exactly what we wanted for our cake. We were able to try pretty much as many samples as we wanted to and wound up choosing a unique flavor and filling with the delicious cream cheese icing. The cake itself was perfect as expected, but the service was exceptional as well. When our florist didn't put flowers on the cake as instructed, Janet herself came back out to the site to put them on --- how sweet! I couldn't have better things to say about this place. And we had heard they were expensive, but really, for a good wedding or special occasion cake they are far cheaper than anywhere else....really a bargain when you consider the product and service you are getting. Would recommend them for all of your cake needs!

Not your ordinary caterer. You got that right! I have bought a custom cake at first and my family loved the cake ,we had hired them for my nephews wedding. The food was amazing and so tasty we still talk about it. I usually don't write reviews but Russian Doll Bakery and Catering are now part of our family. My family now hires them for all there parties big or small, and the cake we had was a dark chocolate ganache cake with salted caramel AND IT WAS TO DIE FOR AND MOIST, not to sweet and we now order cakes bigger so we have some left over!

Chris seemed okay at first, but as soon as I signed her contract, I saw the real Chris. She was incredibly rude and condescending. She acted like I was wasting her time if I called with a question or concern. In fact, the only thing she seemed to want from me was a check, then for me to go away. I had some good vendors, some average vendors, and one awful vendor for my wedding. She was the awful one. I'd never use her again for anything.

I had a great mentor, Chef Philippe Richard, whom I have much respect for. I earned my diploma in baking and pastry with a gold medal in June of ’07. Since attending culinary school I have also taken some continuing education classes. Including a class w/ Bronwen Weber, you may have seen her on The Food Network. Not only has the quality of the sweets declined since their recent location move,but the owner of the establishment is extremely unprofessional. She has chosen to blast previous employees on social media websites & in her place of business in front of paying customers. If you are the owner of a company you should know better than to bring your personal differences to your place of profession. If you are incapable of leading by example, you should not be in charge of running a business. I will never go in that establishment again. The owner should be ashamed of herself. You can't run a place of employment, expect your employees to provide excellent customer service,if you yourself can not do so.

For my birthday this weekend, my husband and sons ordered a SUGAR-FREE cake that looked like a BLUE i-pod. I was SO surprised and nearly in tears that they went to such effort to get it! They were able to sample cupcakes ahead of time and I was able to enjoy a REAL birthday cake this year. I am diabetic and usually have a reduced sugar dessert. It was BEAUTIFUL and they had it done axactly when they said they would. I would encourage anyone who wants a custom cake to go here. The staff was cheerful and energetic and we would go there again and again....

We are appalled by the customer service we received from Simma’s. We booked with them 6 months ago for a wedding in July 2018. Just this morning, we received a phone call that Simma’s will be closed during that time and they have now cancelled our order. We are less than 7 months from the wedding with no cake or sweets table. During this phone call, they made no effort to correct this mistake. Turns out, they close down that time of year every year but failed to figure this out until now. They have now made it our problem to resolve and offered no suggestions or help. We would have appreciated a call from the owner or even them working with a new vendor we selected to ensure they could duplicate what we had ordered. There are a number of ways they could have handled this to make this situation better but the way they chose to inform us just made everything worse. We had been so excited to select them as a vendor and so loved their food but now we will never work them again. UPDATE: we just received a call from the owner who offered an excellent solution. Something we would have expected to receive when we first heard this news. We appreciate her call and chance to discuss our options - much better service.

I have been lucky enough to have these delivered to me not once, but twice, to my place of work. The delivery man/woman is always as sweet as can be. The cookies themselves are from heaven. You get four layers of 5 different cookie types that all taste amazing. The best part? They are still warm and gooey from the over. Literally melt in your mouth. From what I've gathered from the patrons who sent them, the cookies were always delivered on time.

I have never ate here, at Sara J.'s Bakery before. I have delievered goods to you a couple times (the companies name will remain nameless) Let me tell you, the bakery's food on the van looks very appetizing. below your delicious, tanagable food a website caught my eye. Enticed and eager I went home right after the delivery to jump onto my computer to check the website...And found...NOTHING: not pastries, no cakes, no type of tarts filled my vision and definetly no decorated or inviting backround. I must say I expected more. Like the episode of kim Kardashien when she worked on the Dash and Smooch website- I was not impressed. Sara J.'s looks terrific. I believe that technology rules the business world. Every store, shop, bakery, restuarant, bistro, and/or eartery who is looking to excel should have a website to show off those talentes and decorative pastries and cakes. It seems to me that more people look at websites and television than the outside world. Business would florish. I would have already bought several scrumptious treats. Think of the other business people would bring.

My family and I love J B bakery so much that we drive alittle bit of a distance. My dad comes from Gibbsboro to Burlington just to get doughnuts. They have the best around!! I order birthday cakes, cookies and pastries. They are always soooo good. The cakes are incredible. They always get it right (taste and presentation). They are delicious and look great.
