Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar is located in a beautifully restored plantation manor on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. Dating back to the 1930's, the estate once served as the plantation manager's home for Hawaii's first sugar plantation, the Koloa plantation. Later, the estate was acquired by the Moir Family who built the world famous gardens that surround the restaurant. Our menu reflects the heritage of old plantation Hawaii, which celebrates the abundance and beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. Our fresh fish is caught daily by local fishermen in waters off Kauai. We use organically grown vegetables and herbs picked fresh on nearby farms and from our own gardens. Guests may choose to dine on our lanai overlooking tranquil gardens, lily ponds and tropical foliage or in our exquisitely refurbished dining room which features gorgeous Brazilian cherry wood floors, woven bamboo tables and plantation ceiling fans.

Pok? (pronounced PO-kay), means ‘to slice or cut’. This unique culinary style was created by early Hawaiians and is still a mainstay in Hawaii today. Pok? began with fishermen seasoning the cut-offs from their catch to serve as a snack. They tossed sliced fresh raw fish with Hawaiian salt, seaweed and Kukui nuts in a bowl with a soy sauce, green onions, and sesame oil. Ohana, the formal restaurant in Disney's Polynesian Lodge, serves above average cuisine. Meals are all served family style, and include excellent honey tasting bread and sides including salad, green beans, chicken wings in a large lazy-susan like device in the middle of the table. Servers go from table to table offering grilled, skewered meats including steak, turkey, pork, and shrimp. For dessert we had above average chocolate mousse pyramids.

I have been coming to this restaurant for several months and have never been disappointed. No matter the time of day, you can purchase lunch sized entrees, for a much lesser price. Their Chicken and Beef Teriyaki are excellent, and they're served with white rice, steamed broccoli and carrots. I am also very fond of their spring rolls, very tasty! The only down side, is that in winter, they don't turn the heat on in their restaurant. Too cold for inside dining! No matter though, take out is fast, or they are more than willing to deliver. This can be helpful anyway, as parking is often difficult by EB on Thames Street. Salads are simple, but they make a house ginger dressing for them that is delicious! Give it a try!

Excited to go to the first night ,first day opening in Lahaina,We've been a customer at the Maalaea branch for years .But excitement turned into disappointment. Understand, it was their first night but service was slow and food was HORRIBLE, not cooked and raw. Every table around us has a problem with their food, uncooked. (chicken & rib combo) We don't normally write reviews but what happen tonight was a nightmare. The chicken was raw as bloody in some part of it.I will have to upload the picture for you to see,then the ribs, you have to battle with your teeth to eat it..Poor management,poor organization and poor food,!!!!!!
