Artisan Cheese Gallery is a casual restaurant that serves fresh salads, interesting sandwiches, cheese and meat plates, and wine by the bottle and by the glass. The food is exceptional. I've tried most of the items on the menu. There isn't one clunker. They have jazz music on some weekends, and there is patio seating available. You order at the counter. Great for lunch or for dinner.

This quaint shop would be as at home located off a cobble-stone street in Europe as it is off of Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Artisan Cheese Gallery is not only a great place to stop in for a salad or sandwich. it has cases full of everything you will need to create a wonderful meal at home. Some of the day?s offerings are displayed on wooden cutting boards, ready to be sliced for a sample by the helpful staff. Their cheese inventory is too numerous to list here, but rest assured you can easily find an organic chevre to crumble on your salad or parmigiano reggiano to shave over your entree. If you are in the mood to press your own panini, they of course have several varieties of cheddar, mozzarella, or gouda. The walls surrounding the central cheese counter are lined with shelves stocked with olive oils, jams and preserves, wines, cutting boards, and almost anything you would need to start a little bistro of your own ? or at least plenty to help you entertain your friends. Lunch time is the busiest for the store, so if you are coming for a meal we recommend calling ahead. If you are there to browse, coming earlier or later in the day will give you more room to roam. Street parking in front is limited and the lot behind Artisan is small as well. There is usually parking available next to the Big 5 on the other side of Ventura Place, and an entrance through the back of the store if you are desperate for a spot. @thelagourmet

i lived in this neighborhood for years and never realized this rstaurant even existed, so I gave it a try on Tuesday night. Bad idea!!! I usually go to the one next block where sushi is always good ,but stupid me wanted to try something different so I cheated on my Isono. When they brought out the sushi, it reeked of fishy smell!!! sushi even tasted fishy so after two bites I stopped eating. Maybe it was one of those days for this restaurant, but I am never going there again!!!

Although popular, Benihana is not one of the best Japanese restaurants out there. Despite the nice flare and atmosphere, guests will not experience the best that Japanese cuisine has to offer. There are also much better Benihana locations in Houston to choose from. To start, the food here is more about the flair and less about the flavor. Although many of the ingredients used are fresh and of great quality, the biggest drawback is the assembly. Unlike other Japanese restaurants, Benihana's dishes will often mix and match flavors which do not go together, one example of this is the mango shrimp which is completely overpowered by the taste of pineapple. The menu also lacks many things that you would expect to see at a Japanese restaurant. However despite these drawbacks, Benihana boasts some pretty good sushi rolls, including an excellent spider roll. In terms of service, the servers here are generally pretty friendly but very inattentive. The servers really seem to get by with the bare minimum of service. There are also long waits for just about everything and you can expect to spend a couple hours or more here before being able to leave. Another issue with service is that you might get bombarded with all kinds of promotional material before leaving, it can be very overwhelming and I have never seen it at other Japanese restaurants including other Benihana locations. Another drawback about this place is that very few of the workers seem to be Japanese, which might not be very encouraging for some customers regardless of their ability. Another issue about this restaurant is the environment. Despite the nice atmosphere, the place can be very noisy and disruptive. Children can be seen running around the Hibachi area unattended and even pestering customers from other tables. Another issue here is that you can be paired up with just about anyone at the Hibachi, our party got paired up with a bunch of rednecks who couldn't even pronounce Sushi and wouldn't stop complaining about the food. If you are planning a romantic evening, this place is definitely not for you. Overall, this place is great parties and large gatherings but it is definitely not the place I would go to for great or authentic Japanese cuisine.

We tried Mama Mia's for the first time just a few months ago, when we heard from someone that it was great. Now we regret that it took so long for us to try it! If you miss the great pizza of the North End or New York, you will be delighted to find this place. Thin--but not too thin--crusts, not too much sauce. Good quality ingredients. One other thing to love: The atmosphere of the shop is terrible. It's hot, greasy smelling and there's a lot of yelling behind the counter. We love it!

I have been going to Diana's for 15 years. The chicken wet burrito with red sauce is, by far, the best wet burrito I have ever tasted. The tortilla is soft, the marinated chicken is tender, the beans and rice are cooked perfectly, and the red sauce is delicious. This is a WET burrito. The burrito is swimming in tasty red sauce. I guarantee that this is the best wet burrito you will ever eat. The green sauce is great too. I am going right now. You won't be disappointed. Diana's is the best!

I love going here for many reasons! It's not at all out of the way or difficult to find, and they've got such a great selection of products to choose from. I shop here every year for stocking stuffers for my husband for Yule/Christmas, and I visit throughout the rest of the year as often as possible. I've had some of the best tempura from this market! The only downside for me is that I've got to plan ahead on what to make for dinner if I'm shopping here for ingredients, just because I don't read Japanese. I've got to look up the names of products to look for specifically and write down what the Hirigana/Katakana/Kanji for it is, so that I can find it! But it's not that difficult. In summary, great place, fun stuff, but know your Japanese or do research.

If I could give less than one star I would. This place has really gone downhill fast. I used to order here 2-3 times a month. I'll never order here again now.the final straw was when I placed an order online on a Friday night at 7:30. At 8:30 I called just to confirm they had my order. The lady said the delivery guy had just left with my food a few minutes earlier. Another half hour passed and still no food. We live less than 5 minutes from the restaurant. I called and the lady said said the food wasn't ready yet, give her 15 more minutes. I reminded her of what she had said a half hour earlier about my food being on the way and asked why she had lied to me. She became very hostile yelling at me on the phone. I said I no longer wanted the food and to refund my card. She replied that she could not refund my money. When a protested that she better refund my money, what she screamed next blew my mind. She said "too bad, f$&k you" and hung up the phone. I've never been treated so poorly at any restaurant. I drove to the restaurant and at around 9:30 (two hours after my order) I left with the confirmation they had reimbursed my credit card, but still no food. We picked up Arby's on the way home. I'll never go back to China wok.
