I would have ordered a salad had it been offered. We also would have ordered an appetizer but that was never offered, and she again failed to offer drinks, so we were stuck with just our water. When the food came out, she set the plates in front of us, then said ""wait, looks like they put the wrong ticket up"" presumably meaning the cooks in the kitchen and then picked up the food she had set in front of us, took it to the next table over and set it in front of them. Went to pick-up the order after the 15 minute estimate had expired and ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes. Left with the order only to find out they forgot to give us the beverages we ordered. The server was polite, but unflinching on charging us 19% gratuity on a TAKE OUT order. The percentage was applied on the total and not the subtotal, which is also completely inappropriate. We even called to express our displeasure with the gratuity charge to which they said we could pay the full price and use the coupon later or just pay the gratuity. Having previously worked as a server, NEVER has this been the case with takeout orders. The burgers we ordered were over $16 dollars and not even cooked as we requested. We are really disappointed because, as expensive as Santa Fe is, we love supporting local establishments. Especially those that support our local farmers. This alone should not sell Joe's DIner.
