They informed me that everything else looked great and charged me $365 for 5 lbs of Freon and labor. I then found that at first use this year the air conditioner was not blowing cold air again. I had someone else come to look at it and it was low on Freon again. After speaking with several HVAC service companies I've learned that the fact that my system needed 5 lbs of Freon last year pointed to an obvious leak in the system. Had A-1 United simply told me my system had a leak I would have been able to fix it last year and not have to pay for Freon twice. I called A-1 United and spoke with their service manager to discuss my concerns. He was unwilling to do anything to own up to his company's mistake. I fully believe that A-1 has a large staff of great techs but one obviously was not sent to my home. A reputable company would have understood this and taken care of their customer. I was very shocked to be so callously shrugged off by the heating and air company that is consistently rated Best of Omaha."

Which is insane because a customer will look elsewhere when they find out they were very likely taken advantage of for that short term gain. Our furnace pilot was no longer staying lit. We had a company come to the house and very quickly he recommended a new furnace because the heat exchanger was cracked in multiple places and he came up with other reasons as well, which threw up red flags. This didn't sit well with us so we looked for a second opinion. We called Advantage Contractor Solutions based on a recommendation from a friend. Jerry called me and we worked out a time for him to come out and size a new furnace for the house. Today 11/4/16 he went downstairs and decided to see if we really had the issues the previous company claimed we had. Within 5 minutes the furnace was working and he couldn't find any leaks or cracks, go figure! He did find the inducer bearing is going to be needed to be replaced soon but the furnace is good to go until we decide to replace it. So we are going to use Advantage for the new furnace but now, thanks to Jerry we can plan it out and hopefully replace it in a few weeks when it's more financially feasible instead of possibly making the wrong furnace purchase based on money issues forcing a cheaper option instead of maybe the proper option. Thank you to Jerry and Advantage for being honest! We plan on using you for all of our HVAC needs going forward.",,,,

But after the second time I felt like people should know. We had our furnace fixed this winter. He showed up on the wrong day he was scheduled the first time the second time he came out he quoted us $400. We scheduled time to get it fixed and he came back and changed it to $800 because they didn't have the right part. We chose to wait until the right part came in and then on the 4th time he came back and fixed it. I gave it a 2 star rating only because it did get fixed. This spring our air conditioning went out so we called them again. The guy came out on time as scheduled looked at the air conditioner for about a minute and a half and told us we needed a whole new unit and that it would be $3,500. I didn't feel good about it so I called another guy who came out looked over it tried several different things while Consulting with his boss and determined that they could fix the leak drain the remaining refrigerant and fill the new refrigerant for less than $300. I do not recommend this company.",billredding,04/13/2012,five,"I just had my AC serviced it had been leaking at the furnace for some reason. I looked on google and i found a web site named ermannheatingandcooling.com and i went to go look and my did it look impressive. So i saw the phone number at the top of the screen that easy enough to find. Called them up spoke with a man named john. A polite sounding gentleman and he said him and another man would be out with in the hour. They arrived with in the hour like promised and they came to the door adressed them selfs as er mann heating and cooling very professionally. They asked where the unit was and i gave them the direction and didnt have to worry about a thing. They had up front pricing and came and told me what was wrong they said i was low on refrigerant and it would be x amount of dollars i aggreed with the price and they fixed the problem and i was cool againl. thank you er mann for keeping an old man like me cool."
