I've been taking my German Shepherd here for 5 years. We moved from Greendale to New Berlin and I still make the drive. Pros: 1. Good "Paw-side manner": Having taken my dog to an emergency clinic, for an infected hot spot on a 3 day weekend, they had to sedate her (big $) to shave and treat it. I found another spot the next day and took her here. They had absolutely no problem taking her in back and getting her cleaned up and said she had been perfectly calm and cooperative. I frequently get Dr. Greenwald. My dog has always been very skittish around men but the dog is a complete baby around him. It sounds kind of silly that he talks to her like a 1 year old child but I can't argue with his results. My dog is always happy to go to the vet. 2. Facilities: I worked out of a veterinary clinic when I was In the army. When I started bring my dog here they gave me a tour of the whole place. The facilities are totally up to date, although the OR looks a bit cramped. Every thing is clean and well maintained. 3. Getting Appts: Although they don't have emergency hours, I've never failed to get in within a few hours when I needed a same day appointment. One time when I screwed up my calendar and came in a day early, they worked me in anyhow. Cons: Prices: I felt they were on the high side when I had my dog spayed, although it did include bells and whistles like laser therapy to speed healing. An expensive prescription medication she takes everyday is actually a bit cheaper directly from them than over the web, but heartworm medication was double what it costs on the web. Example bill for an annual exam, lepto vac, lyme vac, blood draw and heartworm/tick test came to $217. Office staff: I will join the rest of the reviews in saying that "some" don't go out of there way to seem friendly. I phoned an order in that they got wrong and there wasn't the slightest apology. Not a big deal, but most places will at least say." opps, let me correct that." But again the actual vets and techs are fine to work with.

Worst place I have ever been. I came in with my dying cat and they refused to see him because I didn't have medical records faxed yet from previous vet. Ridiculous. I am 39 and was never treated so rude by anyone. The receptionist with the blond butch haircut was the worst. She was completely dismissive to my cats issues and finally I said that I would leave and go to my other vet and she was LIke "Good, go"... really? No stars

Dr thomas is absolutely amazing!! However his staff is rude and disrespectful!!! I walk in to check in and just stand at the desk while the lady right in front of me doesn't say a work to me. I clear my throat so she knows im there and she looks up and says who do you have with you! No hello or anything. Then a lady comes in concerned about her cat and the same lady just says to her well it needs to be seen. The lady goes on to say that she wants to make an appt but thought she might have an idea of what she can do in the meantime until he could get seen. The receptionist just starts reading a piece of paper and just walks away from her completely ignoring the lady!!!!! Really!!?!? She needs to be let go and they need to get a friendly face in there. Someone who wants to smile and interact with the customers!! I would have rated it a 5 if it was based just on the Dr. But the lady at the front desk almost made me want to walk out and not come back!! Lucky I love the Dr.

I am absolutely SHOCKED to see someone wrote rude...Let me tell you a story. We have been going to Stateline since they opened on Plaistow Rd.They have fed our Birds,Guinea Pigs,Hamsters,Dogs,Puppies,Cats and a few other pets...we have gotten excellent advice on food, training but most importantly, medical advice, when to seek a vet(not just try and sell us a product to cure it...)but wait, THATS NOT THE STORY...So this doesnt take all day...after a decade in Plaistow, we LOST our beloved FAMILY HOME...and times just got worse and worse. So this past week, I went in to the store(**No, I didnt tell then our name so they could see what great customers we were and that we spent alot of money there over the years). I went in, with my pride gone, sucked it up and discussed how I could barely afford gifts for my son and that if they could spare a small bag of dog food, I would be very grateful...""I was so down but had to ask for the sake of my pup. (And before the haters start, you DONT KNOW MY STORY, one of illness and death and a crappy economy and greedy realtors, so dont start with it, BECAUSE THERE BEFORE THE GRACE OF GOD GO I...everyone gets there tesrt in life, what you DO with it is how you will be judged)**Back to my story...So I was taken back to see the owner, he looked at me and said No Problem, and got my dog the biggest bag they had. I cant tell you what that meant and how helpful that was.He didnt know that we have spent probably thousands over the years, he just said we cant have her go hungry...Thats it. This IS A KIND AND GENEROUS MAN! I KNOW PETCO AND PETSMART WOULDNT DO THAT!! So, Im not sure what the problem was before...we are all human and occasionally have a really bad day, but all I know is my dog is eating for a long time because of Dana's generosity!!!

I recently purchased a pair of dog boots for my 20 lb. Boston Terrier. When purchasing these boots I was told if they did not fit or if he did not like them they could be returned in 30 days. My dog tried them on in the house and when doing so he fell and slipped several times. . I knew I needed to return them. When bringing them back to the store on a Sunday afternoon in perfect condition and in their original packaging I was told by the store manager that they coud not take them back and that I needed to speak with the owner Dana Post. who was not there at the time. I decided to call before drivng another 50 mile round trip back to Plaistow. After several attempts to reach him by phone he refused to take my call. He was either too busy or at a meeting. The owner Dana Post did not abide by his own store policy and did not have the courtesy to take my phone call. I would never purchase anything ever again from this store.
